时间精琢明眸亮，        Those hours, that with gentle work did frame
        众目相瞩静凝望。        The lovely gaze where every eye doth dwell,
        时间终将成暴君，        Will play the tyrants to the very same
        超凡美艳转瞬丧。        And that unfair which fairly doth excel;
                
        光阴匆匆不停歇，        For never-resting time leads summer on
        引夏至冬令其亡。        To hideous winter, and confounds him there;
        霜凝树华茂叶落，        Sap checked with frost, and lusty leaves quite gone,
        雪覆美景满目荒。        Beauty o’er-snowed and bareness every where:
                
        若非锁入玻璃墙，        Then were not summer’s distillation left,
        夏日精华无处藏，        A liquid prisoner pent in walls of glass,
        美之功用尽失去，        Beauty’s effect with beauty were bereft,
        美之记忆随消亡。        Nor it, nor no remembrance what it was:
                
        然若花朵经提萃，        But flowers distill’d, though they with winter meet,
        冬日无形亦留香。        Leese but their show; their substance still lives sweet.
