    佳期只在转瞬间。        Holds in perfection but a little moment,
    舞台偌大无非戏，        That this huge stage presenteth nought but shows

    我观人生如草木，        When I perceive that men as plants increase,
    同一天尊抑与勉。        Cheered and checked even by the self-same sky,
    年少轻狂盛极衰，        Vaunt in their youthful sap, at height decrease,
    辉煌记忆再不现。        And wear their brave state out of memory;
            
    世事无常每及念，        Then the conceit of this inconstant stay
    我自见你最华年。        Sets you most rich in youth before my sight,
    时间衰朽相串谋，        Where wasteful Time debateth with decay
    变你白昼为夜晚。        To change your day of youth to sullied night,
            
    因爱我与光阴搏，        And all in war with Time for love of you,
    他毁我护佑你安。        As he takes from you, I engraft you new.
